OVC FY 17 Specialized Human Trafficking Training and Technical Assistance for Service Providers
Office for Victims of CrimeOVC-2017-11579
Description
Housing and employment are two ongoing service needs of human trafficking victims and top priorities identified by trafficking survivors. Beyond resource constraints, there is often a lack of awareness among providers on current best practices for victim-centered housing and shelter options, tools for employment and workforce development and job retention, best practices working when working with youth and other specific populations, and the local and state resources that may be available in a given community. This solicitation will seek applicants to provide intensive training and technical assistance in one of two focus areas: housing and employment. One award in each purpose area will be funded. Eligible applicants will include both for-profit organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who can demonstrate extensive experience and expertise in housing for victims of crime or employment for marginalized populations. Working with OVC and the OVC Training and Technical Assistance Center (OVC TTAC), the selected applicants will proactively work with all OVC Services to Victims of Trafficking grantees to proactively provide tailored assistance, assess housing and employment needs and foster increased connections with federal and local resources.
