Cooperative Agreement for CESU-affiliated Partner with Gulf Coast Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit

Description

The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for technical assistance to the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) on wild cervid cause-of-death investigations and biosurveillance with dissemination of information through the proper channels for use in wildlife management. Disease investigation priorities will include chronic wasting disease and other cervid diseases. Information dissemination will include presentations and participation in meetings with federal scientists to encourage academic-federal collaborations on wild cervid biosurveillance and research. Wild cervids include native and invasive species. This collaboration will advance our efforts to monitor for cervid diseases at the national level, develop tools and strategies for cervid disease management, and disseminate information to partners.
