This FOA supports and builds the Public Health Infrastructure as defined in Healthy People 2030. The activities supported by this funding opportunity seek to develop a capable and qualified workforce able to assess and respond to public health needs effectively: More information about this public health infrastructure goals can be found at https://health.gov/healthypeople/objectives-and-data/browse-objectives/public-health-infrastructure. Specific workforce objectives related to this funding opportunity include: PHI-R01 Explore and expand practice-based continuing education for public health professionals, increase the use of core and discipline-specific competencies to drive workforce development, and PHI-R02 Expand public health pipeline programs that include service or experiential learning.
